To design, build and verify multiplexer circuits:

• a 2 x 1 multiplexer using AND, OR and NOT gates, and
• a 4 x 1 multiplexer using three 2 x 1 multiplexers,

and to verify the working of each circuit by simulating it and comparing its output with the expected truth table.

A multiplexer (MUX) is a combinational circuit that selects one of its 2ⁿ data inputs, using n select lines, and forwards it to a single output.
